Day's Theme Song: Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
Well friends, we sure hope you are having as much fun reading as we are writing because, well...we have fits of hysteria reliving the days events.
Today started at the pre-butt crack of dawn, otherwise known as 5am. I'm not sure what is wrong with us...that may be a later discussion. After enjoying the continental breakfast under the low hanging giant deer heads and bear carcases we took a little nap and started our travels at a more reasonable hour.
We re-entered Yellowstone to make our way toward the NE entrance back into the great state of Wyoming. Big Horn Sheep, more big ass buffalo, and distant wolves were among today's wildlife spottings. Just as we thought we were wrapping up, Suzi uttered a mighty gasp accompanied by profanity. Looking to my right I realized I was in butt poking distance of the largest buffalo in the world! Too afraid to roll down the window (do they like to chew on shiny blonde hair?) we took a quick photo before Suzi began mobbin down the road at warp speed.
Leaving the park, we headed for Cody. I have to admit Suzi was quite excited to see this place and I still can't understand why. We ate lunch and set out on a mission to get Suzi a new cowboy hat. We met a nice little old lady who tried to force a child size hat on Suzi's noggin, then finally found a fabulous adornment at a nearby Western store. Hat in hand (or on head) we jumped in the car and headed out onto the open road once again. Turns out there is not so much to see in Wyoming, except that so much of the earth is really red. Very cool.
Thanks again dear readers, we are now in Gillette, not too far from our goal of Devils Tower and hope to have more excitement for you as we forge on to South Dakota. We have big plans to make it there and Mount Rushmore tomorrow...possible stop at Custer's Last Stand as well. Pretty sure if there is a way to cause a scene at any of those places...we are just the gals to do it!

As you guys can see from my FB posts I am familiar with the area (specifically places to eat from a project I did there when dinosaurs roamed the earth). Whatever you do, do NOT look at the map and think "Wow - Nebraska's just down the road." It sucks there. Nearly as much as Iowa.
ReplyDeleteKeep it coming though - you're cracking me up!
