We Made It!!!

Days Theme Song: On The Road Again - Willie Nelson

Well, we mobbed it straight across South Dakota. We sure thought it would be painful, but it really wasn't bad at all. We started out in Rapid City and cruised over to Wall to check out Wall Drug, which we had been highly anticipating as it was not only our only planned excitement for the day but we had seen 800 signs for it, starting when we were leaving Wyoming. Tom, you were right. :)

Now, if you don't know about Wall Drug, let me just tell you (Oh am pausing for a moment here to remember I bought fudge which is now downstairs melting in the car, damn) that it is really an unexpected dose of road trip fun. We were there about 45 minutes, and our activities included mounting a giant rabbit (you heard me), sitting in a covered wagon, getting breathed on by a ferocious T-Rex, and dancing to the tunes as played by a giant gorilla. Why would you do all of this in the middle of nowhere? Well, cause it's just plain silly fun, that's why.

Moving on, we ate at a cute little diner in Murdo where the time finally changed over to Central. As we were eating, we looked out the window to notice the swarm of flies that had surrounded the bloody bug corpses attached to every surface of the car. We thought that was gross until a little bird swooped in to eat them as a midday snack as well. Yum.

Finally arriving in Sioux Falls for the night, we headed out to dinner at a place recommended by the front desk. We wandered around looking for it, then stopped into a gas station to ask for directions. With a smirk, the attendant told us it was right next door. Did I mention we had never left the hotel parking lot?

Back in the hotel we went for a swim and sat around in the laundry room doing some much needed laundry. To address all of the concerned blog watchers out there, this is why we did not make a post yesterday, so sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to your entertainment. :)

This brings us to today's stretch! We arrived in Minneapolis, well Bloomington really, at about 2:30 after a fairly uneventful drive. We did get slightly lost once, which is bound to happen at least 100 more times. You know how I can't find my way out of a paper bag after all. Of course, I'm sure you are asking yourselves what super fun activity we chose first. Well...we napped. :) Driving takes a toll I spose. Now we are going to hang out in the hotel lobby, get some drinks, then maybe go explore a little. I spose at some point in the coming days it will be helpful for me to find a place to live, which I am sure will be an experience full of tales for you all. Thanks for reading!
